01 / THE DIFFERENCE

NOT JUST
ANOTHER MAP.

A better shift starts with what the software does, not only the values it reads.

AFTERSHIFT 452 goes beyond calibration. Key downshift control has been rewritten, automatic rev-matching added, and upshift engagement recalibrated. The aim is a more decisive, connected shift.

Clutch, gear selection and throttle are considered together. The result is a different driving character on the hardware you already have.

02 / AUTOMATIC REV-MATCHING

THE BLIP.
WITHOUT
THE BALLET.

Race-inspired response.
Developed to avoid unnecessary harshness.

On an eligible downshift, auto-blip brings the engine towards the next gear’s revs. Less pedal choreography. More attention on your line.

Matching the revs means the clutch has less speed difference to absorb when it reconnects the engine to the gearbox. It can engage sooner and more decisively, with less time spent slipping to bring the engine up to speed.

That’s what makes rev-matching central to fast downshifts: it lets the shift-control software make full use of the hardware’s speed, instead of holding back to smooth out an RPM mismatch.

03 / ENGINEERED. THEN DRIVEN.

MODERN TOOLS.
REAL ROADS.

Built by going deeper.
Refined by getting behind the wheel.

A driving problem became a firmware investigation. Instruction-level analysis and execution tests helped reveal how shift control actually works. Repeated owner road tests shaped the driving character.

01

UNDERSTAND THE CODE.

Modern firmware analysis examines the control logic beneath the calibration tables. We change what we can substantiate, not what sounds impressive.

02

TEST THE BEHAVIOUR.

Bounded execution tests check selected control paths, release conditions and software integrity. They support development; they do not replace physical testing.

03

LISTEN TO THE DRIVE.

Development versions have been refined through repeated owner road tests. Feedback on engagement, rev-matching and throttle return drives the next iteration.

What “road-tested” means here.

Owner testing of development versions. It is not independent certification, a universal durability claim, or proof that every new release has been road-tested. The validation status of your proposed build must be confirmed before installation.

COMPATIBILITY ENQUIRY* Required

Your VIN is optional. Do not include your address, registration or ECU files. Preparing a summary keeps your details on this page. BEFORE YOU COMMIT

A FEW
GOOD QUESTIONS.

Is this really more than a remap?

Yes. AFTERSHIFT 452 combines rewritten key downshift control and automatic rev-matching with calibration changes, including upshift engagement. It is not a replacement for every part of the factory engine and gearbox software.

Will it work on my Roadster?

That needs an individual check. Development is centred on the Smart Roadster 452 and C406-based software. You can provide your VIN or leave it blank; you do not need to identify the ECU software yourself. Vehicle configuration, engine modifications, clutch and actuator condition are checked before suitability is confirmed.

Does auto-blip operate on every downshift?

Custom rev-matching comes into play during sporty driving. At low revs and during calm downshifts, the car retains its stock, comfort-oriented behaviour, with a gentler, more gradual shift. Sharper when you’re pressing on, relaxed when you’re taking it easy.

Will it make an unhealthy clutch feel new?

No. Software cannot repair clutch wear, actuator faults or an incorrect mechanical setup. Slipping, warnings or existing shifting faults should be assessed before a performance modification. Engagement feel and component wear depend on the vehicle and its use.

What do I buy, and how much does it cost?

The software is €500 per vehicle. You get an individually prepared, vehicle-licensed build with AFTERSHIFT shift control and your choice of stock engine maps or a basic remap targeting 1.5 bar of boost. Compatibility, installation arrangements and support terms are confirmed before purchase. There is no instant universal download or checkout on this site.

Can my tuner adjust the engine parameters?

Yes. You can choose stock engine maps or the included basic remap targeting 1.5 bar of boost. A competent tuner can further adjust the engine parameters in the supplied image, provided they understand this firmware and know what they are doing. They must preserve the shift-control and licensing code and correctly update the required checksums.

Can I copy the image to another car?

Each issued image is individually generated and contains customer-specific forensic identifiers to help trace unauthorised redistribution. A licence for one vehicle is not permission to copy, resell or install it on another.

Is it legal to use on public roads?

That depends on your country, vehicle and the modification. No road-use approval is claimed. Check applicable vehicle, emissions, noise and insurance requirements with a qualified local professional before installation. Calling a product “motorsport” does not itself establish a legal exemption.
